I just have to blog about this eventhough it doesn't go with my blog's theme.
I was watching Monaco Grand Prix on cable last night. The street race in Monaco was really boring. (I hope Singapore's version of its street race won't be this bad). It was raining on and off, so roads were slippery. Some drivers actually had their tyres changed, while some took the gamble and continued with the race. So as a result, there were gaps in between cars. Sometimes you'll see 5 cars neck and neck. And sometimes, only one lone ranger racing on their own. Because of the wet road conditions and the so many corners, accidents occurred so frequently. But it was not as major and as crushing as what Adrian Sutil had to experience. A few more laps to the finishing line and Sutil was set to finish a promising 4th position; and bagging Force India their first points of the season. Kimi Raikkonen was just behind him. Then all of a sudden, Raikkonen lost control of his car and rammed into him from the back; damaging the rear of Sutil's car and as a result had to retire from the race. Raikkonen's Ferrari was not as tragic and therefore was able to finish in 9th position.
Sutil was of course disappointed and crying! And its not surprising that Force India demands that Raikkonen be punished over the incident.
OUCH!! The world feels for you Sutil!!
Anyway, I am wondering, how much petrol, carbon monoxide, burnt tyres and spare parts are used/emitted in the grand prix? So much for global warming awareness!
