Project Runway USA, Australia, Philippines, Malaysia

I didn't know Sergei Khorokhordin had so many people googling on him. Mostly what else, but photos of him. There's not a lot of info you can find on him. I wish I can compile a few things about his background. But seriously, there's not much I can find. Philippines

Anyway, I've been busy this past few days. But I actually made time to watch Project Runway on Youtube. I'm still not getting the designers at all. Compared with the previous season, I feel this season is not as innovative. The stuff they made are sometimes so horrible and just blah.. so what kind.

I actually find Blayne Walsh quite entertaining. I know many would disagree with him being in the competition in the first place because of his annoying 'liciousness' catchphrase. But I just think these critics spent so much time comparing him to Christian Siriano (due to his famous 'Fierce'), that I feel they missed out on why Blayne was there in the first place. Humor. He may not be the most talented designer on this season, but he is as entertaining (unlike Suede's third person talk. Now that is annoying as hell!!). The things that come out from his mouth can be quite hilarious.

One of the most funniest scene was when Terri Stevens said this to Suede during a duo challenge: "I don't know what he's packing, balls or vajayjay, but he needs to work that out, 'cause I ain't got no babies, ain't nobody sucking on my titties, so please.. man up".

Anyway, just before Project Runway Season 5 started, I've been watching another of its clone, Project Runway Australia. And I tell you, it is da bomb!! They're much more entertaining and their designs are actually much better than the current USA batch. There's actually a Malaysian born named Lui in the competition. His styles are quite innovative. He started off like one of those dumb-dumb contestants. But out of nowhere, he became one of the strongest competitor on the show.

Initially, I was rooting for Mark, the Filipino guy, cos me thinks he's the most talented of the bunch. But unfortunately, he got eliminated last week. He's a cross of Christian Siriano and Bryan Boy. The Elvis Presley inspired hairstyle reminds me of Christian Siriano (Just cos they both have a quirky hairstyle). The overly gayness reminds me of Bryan Boy (not digging it).

I actually didn't know this until recently. Malaysia and Philippines actually have their own version of the show. For Philippines, they're currently on the second episode. Malaysia on the other aired their last episode last year!! Unfortunately, I could only sample their finale cos that's the only one they have on Youtube. Anyway, I find Hatta's creation a piece of bullshit. I have to fully agree with the male judge, cos I think he never did his research on 19th Century clothing style. They looked like his own version of what he thinks the 19th Century outfit should look like. And I hate the shoes he made!! They're pink and ugly!

Anyway, watching both shows can be really confusing. They speak in a mix of Mother Tongue and English. Thankfully I speak Malay. So the transition between Malay and English is smooth. However, I can't say the same for Philippines PR. I find myself struggling to understand what they're saying. Sometimes I didn't even realize they're speaking in Tagalog!

I'm currently waiting for Project Runway Canada to air.
