Latest Hobby: Crocheting

I'm currently on a crocheting craze. Thanks to my boyfriend who feeds my addiction everytime I got myself a new hobby!

I only picked up this hobby like last month or so. Got so inspired after looking at someone crochet something in the train. She looked so peaceful when she did those routine loops. So I felt I could do some therapeutic hobby myself! But had to put it on hold due to other commitments. I hope to learn some new skills from a pro. But right now, I'm just starting on a small coin pouch. Well, actually, it was meant to be a phone pouch. But to my horror, it shrank everytime I do a new layer. So its proof that I need help in this! I'll try making a new one soon. But I'm just getting a feel of crocheting first.

If you're living in Singapore and you're well versed in this crocheting thing, can you recommend me places where I can get cheap yarn and hooks? I bought mine at Spotlight. And I think that's not the only place to get your crocheting fix right?

... or maybe instead of making a coin pouch, I can make a small pouch for my earphones!

  1. Hi, there is a shop near to Yishun Central selling crochet yarn but her choices are limited, mostly for making handbags. I'm a crochet fan, crochet clothes/scarves. Thus far successful. thinking of buying from internet, exploring Lion Brand, some Italian brand etc. Really can't find any decent yarn in sg. You can borrow books from library and start off with scarf.
Nice to know I'm not the only person who loves crochet

  2. hi! Sorry I didn't notice your comment. Thanks for recommending the place. I'll check it out if I'm in the area. Btw, I tried to flip thru crocheting books, and it looked so difficult to understand. So far I now know how to do the zig-zag pattern, but have yet to practice it yet. Hopefully after I'm done with my half-baked project. I'm making a headband btw. It looked kinda promising. Not sure if it'll be successful. But so far, quite ok. Thanks for the feedback!!
