Hari Raya!

This entry is officially my 100th post! Since the last entry, I've already celebrated the much awaited Hari Raya. And I've since ate traditional malay dishes like rendang, sambal satay, sambal goreng, ayam masak merah and ketupat, all on one day! I've also baked (last minute) 2 types of cookies: Corn flake cookies and chocolate chip cookies. I can't be bothered to do a lot of baking this year.

The same chocolate cookies I've been making since I was in secondary school. Since then, I've perfected the art of making chocolate chip cookies. That is, use two spoons. HAHAHA! If you worked with one before, you'll know how sticky the dough can get, right? And its bloody annoying!

The day before I made these cookies, I made a last trip to Geylang with my boyfriend to buy my dendengs and kebab. It is bloody expensive for a roadside food. Bazaar is suppose to be the place where you buy stuffs at affordable prices cos bazaar is normally for poor people. But it somehow got twisted along the years, and now it cost just the same as in an air-conditioned shop.

Spot my boyfriend in the above photo!

These are men's clothes waiting to be sold. Men's outfit are normally plain, simple and boring. Another thing I hate about buying your clothes in bazaar: no changing rooms. So in my opinion, bazaar is only good for one thing: food. But considering how much it cost now, I think I might have to reconsider that opinion. HAHA.

I never really understood why people would pay to have their hands and feet tattooed with henna. In my opinion, it is ugly, hideous and doesn't go with anything you wear. And it is a pain to have to wait an hour before you can wipe off the excess. During that waiting period, you can't touch anything or be near anything. Cos you're afraid it will stain your clothes and mess up your designs. So why put yourself on a spot. I swear if I ever get married, I will never have that thing on my fingers. It just depreciates the value of your white wedding gown. End of story.

While most women would prefer staying at home (their excuse: must prepare food for guests), people like my mum, sister, and me would make our way to the mosque near Chinatown to perform our Eid prayers. While I am happy to see other muslimahs attend the mass prayers, I am annoyed by crying babies... Their parents don't have a maid to take care of the kid at home I guess.

After prayers, we had tea and chocolate cake! I had a few slices, before its time to head back home.

Will continue in the next entry! Good day!
