Hi, I've been extremely busy this couple of weeks. Since I last blogged, I've been going out celebrating Hari Raya. We have like 30 days to celebrate the month of Syawal. But usually on the 4th week, the mood sort of died down. So its as if, we only celebrate 3 weeks of Hari Raya instead of a month. But thats not the case in Kuala Lumpur. As I've found out last weekend, people are still busy organizing Hari Raya open house.
Anyway, here in Singapore, on the 3rd week, I would normally be with my friends visiting houses. But due to unforseen circumstances, aka the guys are fucking lazy, they pushed back the date to 25th October. But unfortunately, I had to leave Singapore for Malacca. So to make up for it, my boyfriend took me out for Hari Raya with his friends instead on the 18th October.
At first I had a hard time mixing around with them. They are sooooooooooo different from the people I used to hand out with. They smoke so much I had a hard time breathing! And they made me board a fucking lorry. Its not like I want to complain. But I felt so left out to be dumped at the back of the lorry with males while the rest of the girls with high heels get to sit in a car! I was cursing like crazy in my heart. I was in my high heels as well, and they expect me to climb in heels wearing a baju kurung (long skirt). They had nothing for me to climb on to. I practically had to split my legs wide open so I could climb up! So fucking disgraceful... and to have men look at you pathetically trying to jump into the lorry?! Why let a male sit at the back of the car, and me in the lorry??? Stupid. Just because he has a kid and I don't? KNN. After what happened, I'll make it a big deal for my boyfriend to go get a licence. Any kind of licence will do so I don't have to sit at the back of a lorry. Thankfully I only had to take the lorry once. The rest of the night, I took the bus. And parted ways half way into the outing. So this was how I started my day with them. I was beginning to hate all of them, and I just want to leave quickly.
Then after the first house I visited, we took the lift with 9 or 8 others. The lift had a capacity of 8 people. But after the last one boarded, we were expecting an alarm to notify us that the lift is overloaded. But it didn't! Then by some stupid luck, we got stuck in the lift! KNN! We had a baby and a toddler in the lift with us. So we were pretty worried for the 2 kids. And the guy standing behind me is claustrophobic. So he started panicking and had his shirt removed. Thankfully he was wearing a singlet. Sigh.... If anything, I pity his girlfriend. She had to put up with his sissy ways. I heard he's scared of cockcroaches too... Harapkan je ade bodek.
It took a while for the rest of the group who took the lift earlier to realise we were stuck in the lift. By then we've already called the lift operator. We were stuck in there for a good 15 minutes. Luckily the fan and light was still running. In that 15 minutes, the people outside the lift were making so much jokes. Like we're gonna die if someone inside were to fart, blablabla. It was so fucking hilarious! I just burst into laughter. Someone tried to say some prayers, and got smacked in the head cos he said the wrong prayer.
By the time we were saved from our predicament, everyone started cheering for us! Then we were told by the lift technician the lift was old.... Guess what? If its old, then isn't it time for them to have it changed?! Or at least repaired?!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stupid Jurong Town Council. What the fuck are you doing in the office?! Sleeping on the job?!
So the incident was a start to me warming up with the group. As it would (usually) turn out, they are not as bad as I imagined them to be at the beginning of the outing. They are (usually) quite nice people who likes to joke around A LOT! Take for example, when we were at one of the girlfriend's home, we were treated to Laksa Penang. To tell you quite honestly, I don't really like my laksa with no coconut milk. But everyone else seemed to love it. So there's this two guys sitting just opposite me on the table. They were happily indulging in their bowl of laksa, when someone took out his DSLR camera to take a photo of them eating. And these 2 guys joked with each other that they have to eat like gentlemen. Then later on when they wanted to sip in the gravy, the host looked on. And in response, they said, "Eyy malu lah seh makcik tengok kita hirop kuah" And immediately they take spoonfuls of gravy one at a time instead of sipping the entire bowl! And again, they never fail to make me laugh like a fucking berok.
Anyway, this was one of the photos taken during the outing. Its a photo I copied from a friend's blog. The photo quality isn't that great. But I'll take what I can get since I didn't take any photos myself!!
The week before this photo was taken, my boyfriend's brother invited us to his open house. Their home was so cosy and lovely done. I can see they put in so much effort and money(!) into making their home look like a show room! HAHAHA! I unfortunately did not take any photos of that day. What a bummer! Cos his niece was there!! She's insanely cute!! I love her to bits! Since the last time I saw her, she has now grown into a beautiful little girl with long hair and she now can understand people around her well.
So that's pretty much how I spend Syawal with my boyfriend. In my next entry, I'll share some photos from Hari Raya outings with my family. If I'm kind enough, you might just get a glimpse of a photo of yours truly.
